Make a Saint Mary’s Education Possible for Every Qualified Young Woman

Goal: $20 million

Financial obstacles should never stand between a talented young woman and the profound opportunity of a Saint Mary’s education. The College must open its doors wider to women who have the passion and promise to succeed at Saint Mary’s.

This is why endowed scholarships and need-based grants are the cornerstone of Faith Always, Action Now. Ninety-five percent of Saint Mary’s students depend upon some form of financial assistance to attend. The commitment to scholarships and financial aid accounts for more than 25 percent of Saint Mary’s operating budget. Only new endowed funds can empower the College to sustain and grow its financial aid resources now and for the long term.

Through this campaign, Saint Mary’s seeks to invest $20 million in new endowed scholarships and grants:

  • 10 new scholarships to provide $30,000 per year in tuition and fees for economically disadvantaged students
  • 15 new Moreau Presidential Scholarship awards to provide $15,000 per year for outstanding merit scholars
  • 75 new need-based grants to provide $5,000 each.  Grants typically make the largest impact on a student choosing among colleges.
  • 20 new study abroad grants to support the more than half of Saint Mary’s women who study abroad
  • 10 new student employment grants to enable students to assume part-time campus work-study jobs to supplement their financial aid packages

Together, these investments will help make Saint Mary’s College affordable for more families, attract outstanding students, and support a wide range of study abroad opportunities.
